A Magical Christmas at Drayton Manor

We had a fabulous time at the weekend visiting a Magical Christmas at Drayton Manor.

All of the rides in Thomasland were running as well as a couple out in the main park, perfect for a day out with the kids. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, there were also snow showers, Christmas Tree light shows, an indoor ice rink, Christmas shows, 4D Polar Express, Thomas Land shows, meet and greets, a magical parade and fireworks. Excitement was high!

The park looked so pretty and festive and as well as the decorations and twinkly lights, dotted around were fun over-sized ornaments great for photo opportunities…

We enjoyed watching the balcony shows at Knapford Station in between going on rides and meeting characters…

Little man with the Fat Controller

We walked across the park to look around the zoo, too, and spent a fair bit of time watching the tamarins in the small mammal house, they were so funny and sweet. The reptile house is always a hit, too, along with the meerkats. Whilst over there we spotted a festive-looking Thomas, then we made our way back for more rides and to give the indoor ice rink a try.

To end our day, we went to the Castle of Dreams to meet Santa. The kids were so looking forward to seeing him and telling them what they wanted this year. The Castle of Dreams is magical as you stroll around after meeting the man himself, with colouring and craft tables and beautiful displays to look at and interact with.

Here’s a little video to give you a feel for our day there. I should probably confess that the whole time I recorded Little Man and the Husband on the ice I was laughing. A lot. Oh, and that kid by the tree at the end – he was OK!

The Magical Christmas is on now until 31st December. The online price for 4-11 year olds is £15 for the day, including meeting Father Christmas, and its less for younger children. It’s also free to park, and if you’d prefer you can just pay for park entrance without the Santa visit. There is also a Drayton Manor hotel onsite so you can make a weekend break of it. We loved it!
